My brother Blitzen was in a foster home for a long time and GOT ADOPTED! I am now in his old foster home and if I do as well as he did, his family is going to adopt me too!! I may get to live with BLITZEN! WHOO HOO! Cross fingers for me! I will try very hard to overcome my fears so I can be with my brother!
Donnor

I am Blitzen's brother and right now I think he is a fool to trust you humans. BUT I am watching him closely and I see he gets treats all the time.. hmmmm maybe he is on to something.

You see we were born in a tiny house with 91 other dogs all piled high in tiny crates where we lived so we have not seen many humans and are not sure if you are friend or foe. It will take a lot to earn my trust but once you catch me I kinda like the lap and the hugs.. but am still not sure. I will keep watching Blitzen.. when he gives me the thumbs up I just MAY come inside for a treat!

Come see us.. the more we know the better we will be and then.. we can get a 'better life'!

Hi my name is Eden and I am a middle aged HW positive DREAM DOG! Just ask my foster home! They love me! I love life and am always happy no matter how bad I have had it! (and I have had it bad before trust me! but you will never hear me complain!) I am one lucky girl to have been rescued (and they went back for my buddy Lena too! You can see her on this website as well! I was really worried about her!) and even luckier to have found such a WONDERFUL foster home who takes me to the park and everything!

I am low keyed but ready anytime you are for an adventure, I love car rides and I will love you too! I will love the WHOLE family, large and small, 2 legged and 4 legged! I don't care! I just LOVE it all!

Once I am thru my HW treatment I will be ready for a home of my own! I am ok without Lena as long as I know she is safe! And I am assured she is safe forever now... just like me!

Come see me soon!

Rick O'Shae

Red/Golden/Orange/Chestnut - with White

Beagle

St Patrick’s Day 2013 BAM! BAM! What was that, a big box, or an old boot or blanket? Something keeps ricocheting off cars as they speed thru the intersection not even trying to avoid it. Someone should move it before it ricochets up and breaks a window or causes a worse accident.

Only it was not a piece of trash being ran over repeatedly and thrown all over the intersection, but a young beagle boy, battered, beaten and broken to pieces, barely alive screams no longer audible. Rushed to the nearest vet, it took a village to save this little Leprechaun but save him we all did! And here he is now!

Many surgeries later, and support from all over the world, this little one is alive and kicking (all by himself even!) And boy is he ready to live a normal life now!! Looking everywhere for his home! It does not even have to be Irish!! Rich O'Shae is NOT picky as a long as a lot of lovin's come with that home!

Young, crate trained, and housebroken to a doggie door, he is a low maintenance dog for sure, and although a young guy he thinks tricks are for kids... but you can't blame the little guy for worrying when left alone too long can you? He tries hard to be good but he starts to worry at the end of the day and stressing no one will ever come home so Rick needs a home that is not gone a full 8 hrs without letting him know somehow all is ok!

Are you that home? Look into his eyes! He is magically convincing!!

I am BOOMER! And I am the most gorgeous smaller sized mostly black and white Tri colored Basset you have EVER seen! I know I am, so why not brag? I am an easy going guy who just wants a soft place to live and my friend Dixie to dote on me. She needs that you know, being a small doxie/beagle mix and wanting to be a full Basset like me! If I were not here for her to dote on I am not sure what she would do! I don't mind though.. someone has to do it. And she is a good girl, housebroken JUST LIKE ME, and well mannered JUST LIKE ME, and such a cuddle bunny, JUST LIKE ME!

Come see us, maybe take us home for a test drive? We would love to show you how much you need us in your life!

Judy

Senior
female
Tri-Color - Tan/Brown, Black & White
30 Pounds
Beagle

Due to their condition and age, weakened from tick disease, walking on long twisted nails, suffering miserably infected ears, Judy and her mate Ross were scheduled to be euthanized at the local shelter. Once rescued, it was discovered they were totally infected with tick disease and heartworms. And from there, it just got worse. Kennel cough, from their shelter stay, gripped their weakened bodies so hard it dropped them to their knees for weeks as it totally consumed what little strength they had left and took away almost all the breath they were fighting so hard to keep. It should have been the end, but it wasn’t as their strong will and determination, once again, pulled them through.

Today, ears healed, nails clipped, tick disease eliminated, strong medication, good food and amazing supplements in their systems, their eyes are bright and shining, coats are soft and smooth and tails are always a waggin' - despite poor Judy still carrying around heavy hanging, baseball sized mammary tumors from her tiny little belly.

Undergoing the 'slow method' heartworm treatment, both Judy and Ross desperately need foster homes in order to continue to heal so they can finally be altered and the heavy mammary tumors removed from Judy's belly, THEN they can FINALLY be adopted into wonderful loving homes for the first time in their little lives.

Sweet and loving, happy and silly, you can't help but LOVE LOVE LOVE these two tiny little creatures and your heart goes out to them making you want to help them in any way you can. Come see Judy and Ross. Come see their lively spunky loving little souls and do what you can to help them too! They are seeing the world for the very first time and it warms your heart. Take them home to foster and warm their hearts as well. They so so need it.

My name is Sybly and I was in a home who had a German Shepard that ripped me up really bad one day. So bad our owners took us both to the shelter and left us. I was hurt bad but the shelter gave me medicine and cleaned all my rips and tears really good... and when it was determined I was going to be ok, they called rescue to come get me!  whew! That was scary as I didn't know what was going to happen to me next.

I am a really good beagle and a really pretty girl. I am not sure what I did wrong to get in so much trouble, but maybe try to steal food some other dogs food, I am a beagle after all and I do love my vittles more than life you know.

Everyone here loves me and i am such a good girl I don't have to live in the kennels much and spend a lot of time in the house! (shhh don't tell the others)  I am not a big beagle and I am young and healthy now. Can't go wrong with me and can't find a prettier little girl anywhere! You should take a chance on coming to see me! I double dog dare you to not fall in love at first sight! I know I will fall in love with you!

I am a tiny little tricolor beagle doxie mix who was owner surrendered to the shelter with my best friend in the world, a smaller sized full black tricolor basset named Boomer. I take good care of him and protect him as much as I can to keep him out of trouble. He is not as smart as me and needs me to run interference sometimes and talk others out of being made at him. He doesn't act like he cares one way or another but I know he appreciates it and loves me regardless. I love him and hope we can go to a home together... please? I am not sure what I would do without Boomer to look after. He is a great basset, just a little slow, but hey he is a MALE, right? lol

Come see us. We make a great team and are very low maintenance I promise! Housebroken, quiet, and mostly obedient (I can't speak for Boomer but he does try!) and are the best cuddlers ever! You will love us!

ADOPTION PENDING! Anna is an a foster to adopt home for her HW treatment. Once she is negative they will finalize her adoption!

They call me Anna. My one remaining puppy Elsa and I were finally rescued and are trying to find a home of our own now. It has been a long hard road for us as I am now heartworm positive and in the slow treatment method. I am a tiny little girl with a calm, gentle, loving soul but then maybe it is because of the HW and I will feel differently when they are gone? Eitherway, everyone loves me now and I am ready for a 'foster to adopt' home if someone wants to keep me as a foster until my heartworms are gone? Elsa, my little pup is also looking for a 'foster to adopt' home until she is old enough to spay.

If you think you may be a local 'foster to adopt' homes, it sure would be nice for you to come see us! Either or both of us would be great! Beware though, Elsa must have taken after her dad as she is NOT calm and gentle.. she is a PUPPY you know! LOL

Love Anna

Wes

Beagle

My name is Wes here. It use to be Westbrooke but not sure why! I was adopted from the OKC shelter a year ago and maybe that is the street they picked me up on then? It is anyone's guess. (Brooke and I met at the shelter and were taken by the same rescue... can you guess how she got her name? LOL)  I am not sure why I was returned to the shelter but I was and the  bad part is I have gained SOOO much weight in that year it is silly and I have little energy right now when it is so hot out. But that's ok as I just want to be near you.

Come to find out I have a thyroid problem and have to take a tiny pill twice a day! whoo hoo! I will be thin again in no time! And when I am I will be ready for a new home again! This time I hope a FOREVER home and not a temporary one as my last one turned out to be sniff.

It is hard being shuffled around but it has made me a good beagle they say, I am happy with anything and you can do almost anything to me as I know and trust humans despite being let down over and over. I know they try. Other than being anemic some and needing a thyriod pill I am good to go! I don't even need my teeth cleaned as I will let you brush them anytime you want. I am very easy going and laid back and a happy boy. I love to lay in the yard and watch the birds and roll in the grass and sleep too. I use the dog door to come back in when I get too hot and flop down on a soft doggie bed and watch you with happy adoring eyes.  I can't hear you as I am deaf but I know you are saying sweet words to me so I just smile and close my eyes.

Come let me decorate your life with my aura! It is a great one! I promise!

Low Key - that's me! I'm pretty laid back as beagles go. I like to get up in the morning, stroll around the front yard. Maybe bay at a bird or two, do what I have to do, and then come back in and watch TV. These crazy pups just run and play and bark and howl and just drive a dog crazy. I much prefer to be by your side, just enjoying the day. I'm good on a leash and just love to go for walks and I'm house broken and crate trained too! So, if you leave me at home, I'll be fine.

Marilyn

Beagle

Meet Marilyn Monroe, an older blonde beagle who is just as beautiful and sweet as she is lost and confused. She has the sweetest softest voice and talks all the time when she is nervous. She wants to love and be loved so bad but needs a secure home in order to trust totally again. She cuddles so well and is no trouble at all in the house, almost totally housebroken with a doggie door she still needs to have her teeth cleaned and a slight cherry eye fixed which will be done as soon as she is less stressed. Beautiful soul this one, beautiful inside and out, that's our little Marilyn!

Do you have a quiet home that needs to be filled up with tons of blonde beagle love? If so, Marilyn is the answer!

Morty

Senior

Tri-Color - Tan/Brown, Black & White
38 Pounds
Beagle

On the coldest day in Oklahoma history, Mortimer (Morty), an older heartworm positive beagle boy and his best friend, and protector, Marvin, a short haired corgi mix, were tied with electrical tape to a lone fence in the country, and abandoned, without shelter or protection. Doomed and unable to even huddle together for warmth and comfort, they bravely faced the harsh bitterly cold wind alone and accepted their fate. Miraculously someone saw the two friends laying nose to nose in the icy wind and RSR/OKBR was contacted.

Marvin has been adopted and Morty is very sad without him. His heart worm treatment is just about over and he feels SO MUCH BETTER!  Then he can be neuterd and will need a home of his own VERY SOON so he can get over his loss of Marvin and be a happy boy again surrounded in the love Marvin always gave him!! He is a great house dog who does well with everything.

If you would like to help Morty now, we do have a 'foster to adopt' program which allows them a home with love while he waits till he can be adopted! Please contact us for more information!

Help Louie Jump His Hurdles!

Picked up by animal control, Louie sat for 2 long weeks in a Kansas shelter, waiting for his owners to come for him. Finally safe, fed, warm and off the street, his first hurdle was behind him, yet he was still injured, frightened and alone. Tending to his surface injuries tenderly, the shelter staff unfortunately discovered his hip was broken and knew they could not help him any further. Since he had not been reclaimed, they had no option but to do the most humane thing they could for Louie, and put him to sleep.

As a final cry for help, a plea for help went out to the OKLAHOMA Beagle Rescue for assistance. This is the boost that helped Louie over his second hurdle! He was again safe! But it was still another long 2 weeks in the shelter before a foster home in Oklahoma could be found and transport arranged.

The ACO who picked him up, and the shelter workers who tended to his wounds may have helped him over the first frightening hurdle, the rescue who took him in, and the foster home who are caring for him may have helped him over the second hurdle, but he is now facing the toughest hurdle of all, and the most critical. Raising the funds to get him pain free and jumping hurdles by himself again will take EVERYONE working together. Unfortunately, without our combined support, Louie will lose the use of his leg and will never be out of pain.

Together, we can help Louie over that final hurdle and get him back on the track to being the free-spirited, happy-go-lucky, hurdle jumping beagle he was always meant to be!!

THIS IS AN ASSISTED PLACEMENT.
This young boy I was taken to Animal welfare to have put to sleep because he needed to be bottle fed when he was born. He is 4mos old now and 37lbs already ! He is fully vaccinated, neutered and crate trained . He rides well in car and loves to show you his prizes and talk about them, he is a great talker. He will fetch but sometimes gets distracted on the way back to you . He knows Sit and we are working on Wait. He is leash trained . Very treat motivated. He likes to play rough with my male Brittany but calms down with the older dominant female Brittany. I am asking a adoption fee of $150.00 to help cover my vetting cost.

Vixen here! I am Fancy's sister and look just like her (ok so I am a little smaller but alot fatter.. sigh.. I do love my food!) Most folks can't tell us apart but I worry more.. see my worry lines... other than that.. just look at Fancy.. we are twins!

I was also one of the many feral beagles from the abuse hoarding case in OKC and have taken a tad longer to come around. Fancy, who had puppies, had a lot more house time than me (which was NONE) so she came around a lot faster! I am making BIG steps though as everyone even thinks I am Fancy when I go to adoptions cause I am not so timid anymore!

I know if I had a home of my own I would be JUST FINE and not nearly as scared as I am always here (so many new scary things happening all the time!) Even if I had a foster home I would 'come around' to not being so scared even faster! So please consider fostering me and getting me somewhere safer than here. I just know someday soon something or someone is going to hurt me! Even though they tell me I am being silly they just don't understand... sniff

I will be a good girl for you when I figure out you are safe. I promise!

I am a young nonvocal lemon beagle with a crazy beagle food drive who otherwise is a calm sweet housedog. Don't know why I have that insane desire for food all the time but I do! I just LOVE IT.. but I will love you too if you come get me. I am young and fun and low maintenance as long as you put all the food up that is! LOL.. my only issue is a luxating patella or a "trick knee" which does not bother me at all but may at some date and need a little surgery to keep it aligned. Maybe not! Either way it is no biggie and the rescue will help you later if I need it.

Otherwise I am READY FOR A HOME! Are you my home?

My name is Lena and I am a young shephard mix that use to live with Eden the middle aged beagle but we both got out one day and the shelter got us and our owners never came for us! Even when our microchip has 3 phone numbers and they were left messages, no one ever called back. It broke both our hearts! But it really scared me when Eden left and I was alone at the shelter. But luckily Eden was sad and someone mentioned me so they came got me too!

I am full of energy and love but have been housetrained and am well mannered! I like all people and dogs and i am SURE I can learn to not think cats are strange... I am very smart so there is no reason I can't learn that! I don't chase them but boy I sure want to! And sometimes I forget and lunge toward them but know I am not suppose to. They just smell so .... weird you know?? I have never seen any before and I want to investigate them more but they are MEAN and challenge me constantly! sigh.. silly cats.

Eden was sick so am so glad she is in a foster home who is taking care of her. I miss her some but don't worry about her anymore as I know she is good to go! I am good to go too! I play all day here at the rescue with other dogs but I long for a home of my own. I am young and have a FULL life in front of me... come give me that life please?? I need you and I know you need me! Just think about it!

ADOPTION PENDING! I am going to Therapy dog training! YAH! I love training! Cross fingers I pass!

UPDATE: Oct 2013 One of Dewey's owners has passed away and Dewey is now back in the Rescue needing a new home! He is very sad and confused and depressed.

I'm back at the rescue again. I completed "A New Leash on Life" Prison Training Program and learned a lot. Come see how good of a boy I can be. I know all the basic commands and I lived in a cell with an inmate for 10 weeks! He and I were best friends and he so wish he could have kept me. I stay in touch so he knows I am ok! I am looking for a home that will keep me inside with them and take me places when they go and maybe have another dog I can play with (although that is NOT a deal breaker as I just love being with you) Oh I have one bad fault. I love to open gates (But hey that was something they TAUGHT me in my training program right? They just forgot to tell me to NOT open ALL gates lol) I sometimes have a party in the kennels at night and let EVERYONE out and boy do we have fun running around inside all night. We all try to be back in our beds before morning though shhhhhh..

I am a fun guy, well mannered, but still with TONS of spirit that will keep you laughing! They say I am too smart for my own good... and sometimes much smarter than they are which frustrates them! LOL Yep I am a one of a kind type guy who keeps getting his heart broken. Don't understand... but will wait for you to come see me as maybe you will be THE ONE to fix my broken heart and spirit...

AM DESPERATE FOR A FOSTER HOME FOR MORE HANDS ON ATTENTION OR I MAY BE HERE FOREVER!

Dancer here. I am a pretty little young red beagle who has had a very sad life in a crate and never met all the scary things in this scary world. You see I was born in a tiny house with 91 other animals all piled high in tiny crates where we lived so we have not seen many humans and are not sure if you are friend or foe. It will take a lot to earn my trust but once you catch me I kinda like the lap and the hugs.. but am still not sure. Many of my brothers and sisters came here with me to 'rescue' and a couple are in foster homes learning to trust! But not me! No one ever does anything but scare me here. I guess I need a foster home as much as i don't want to go to one. I just want to go back to my tiny crate where it is safe and never leave again. sigh.. they tell me that is no life at all.

Come foster me.. or come see me at least.. the more I am exposed to the better I will be and then.. maybe I can get a 'better life'!

I am taking tiny steps to being better but it is so slow I will die here of old age first. I NEED YOU... and you.. and you.. and you... I just need help somehow.

As soon as they can without scaring me, they will get some pictures so you can see how very beautiful I am.

I'll trade all my yesterdays for one single tomorrow, for you to be holdin' your head next to mine.

La la laa la daada Bobby McGee-ah yeah... singin' the blues...

Freedom's just another word for nothin' left to lose,
Nothin', that's all that Bobby has left, yeah
But, feelin' good is easy, yeah when Bobby sings the blues (and he does!)
Is feelin' good, good enough for you, mm-hmm?

I AM IN A TEMPORARY FOSTER HOME NOW! They say I am the BOMB and the best dog and having so much fun in the house instead of the kennels! I could have told them this ages ago! I am a GOOD dog.. I have had time to learn to be a GOOD dog.. I just need a GOOD home! Come look at me and see for yourself!!

Rumble here! I have been in rescue over a year now and don't know why! I am the sweetest guy ever! Such a lover boy.. don't let my gray face scare you. I am a beagle mix and some beagles just get 'white face' at a younger age! I live with the rowdiest pack of wild young beagles you ever saw and can hang tough with em.. and many time I have to put them in their place too! I am a great lover and a great protector so you really don't know what you are missing not having me in your home! I am way past the puppy stage and not ready for the rocking chair either (heaven forbid!) so I am just perfect! Trust me I KNOW! cause I live with myself every day and have for a long time now! Once you have me in your family you will regret not bringing me sooner! I love kids and other dogs but would like to catch that silly cat so I suppose that is my only flaw.. cats.. yuck.. lol

Come see me.. I get lonely here for so long in a kennel. I need a home to call my own and to lay on soft fluffy beds and enjoy being with my humans!

SOON though I will be all well and ready to love you and everyone in your family! I am such a sweetie how can you not let me love you?

If you would like to foster me while I get well, I will even start NOW! I will make you feel better while you make ME feel better too! WIN WIN!

Come see me!

Brooke

BOO!   Don't get scared, its just my name. :)

I'm a older lemon Beagle since I was born in December of 2002.  My foster mom says that I'm a very sweet girl.  She also says that I've been fixed, although I didn't know I was broken.

When I was younger I really loved to run an play in my yard, but I'm not very active these days.  The vet said that I tore my ACL in my back right leg, I'm not sure what that was, but it makes it hard to run and play.

I'd like to have a  quiet retirement home.  It was hard living with three young children, at that energy just makes me crazy.  I have to tell the kids ARROOOOO!! but they still don't listen.

I do love to cuddle,  So I  would be very happy in a quiet home with someone with spare time to sit and snuggle me on the couch and and maybe go on some short walks with me.

My doctor says that I'm current on all my shots and I'm ready to go home with you.
